A slow preheat is usually a sign, not just an inconvenience.
When a bake element or gas igniter is starting to fail, it often doesn't stop working all at once — it puts out less heat than it should, so the oven takes noticeably longer to climb to the set temperature. If preheat times have crept up gradually over weeks or months, a weakening element or igniter is one of the most common causes.
Ovens use a temperature sensor to tell the control board when the target temperature is reached. If that sensor is drifting or reading inaccurately, the oven may keep cycling the heat longer than necessary because it thinks it hasn't reached temperature yet, even when it has (or vice versa).
A worn or damaged door gasket lets heat escape during preheat, which forces the oven to run longer to compensate. This is a simpler and less expensive fix than an element or igniter issue, so it's worth ruling out first.
