Different fuel source, different failure points — here's how diagnosis and repair differ.
Gas ovens rely on an igniter, a gas valve, and burners to produce heat, so most gas oven problems trace back to one of those three components — along with the safety consideration that any gas smell means stopping use immediately and calling a licensed technician. Electric ovens rely on bake and broil heating elements plus a control board, so failures tend to show up as uneven heating, a dead element, or error codes on newer digital models.
Regardless of fuel type, we use the same diagnostic-first approach: confirm which component is actually failing before recommending a repair, rather than assuming based on symptoms alone, since heating problems can look similar on the surface even when the underlying cause is different.
